2008-2012

Traveled to Fulfill our Wanderlust

2012

2013

Started fertility testing, including:
Sperm Analysis
Hsysterospinalgram to check for function of fallopian tubes
Ovarian Assessment Report to determine quantity and quality of eggs remaining
Multiple Ultrasounds

2014

December - Belinda had a hysteroscopy to remove an ovarian cyst (several actually) and to look for and remove any endometriosis and test fallopian tubes once again (see hysterospinalgram in 2013). Everything looked good.

2015

July - September - Belinda took Femara to help with ovulation and promote healthy eggs.
October - December - Timed Intercourse Cycles at the Tulsa Fertility Center. Belinda added the HcG shot (trigger shot) to the Femara, along with multiple monitoring appointments to time intercouse with ovulation.

2016

January - conceived naturally with no medication. We found out we were pregnant January 30.
February - Miscarried at 6 weeks pregnant. Suspect chromosomal abnormality and low progesterone.

October - conceived naturally with no medication. We found out we were pregnant October 9. The miscariage started October 11 at 6 weeks pregnant. Suspect chromosomal abnormality and low progesterone.

December - after finding a new doctor to perform genetic testing, Belinda was diagnosed with the MTHFR mutation (homozygous). After learning I had the MTHFR mutation, I changed prenatals to take the active form of folate instead of folic acid, which is not metabolized properly by people with the MTHFR mutation. If someone has the gene mutation from only one parent (heterozygous), the concern is not as great as with homozygous mutations, which decreases the metabolizing of folic acid by 70%. Since the MTHFR mutation is part of the blood clotting panel, I was also advised to take a baby aspirin daily.

2017

April - It has almost been 5 years of trying to conceive, and we are looking to embrace our current circumstances and consider other options to help children, nurture others and explore the possibility that we may not conceive. From a friend who has also been through the rocky road of infertility, "This life is simply too beautiful to stand still in the low places."

2017

June 14 - Positive Pregnancy Test, confirmed with 2 positive lab draws. We are at 12 weeks now.

2018

February 22 - Miracle double rainbow baby due!
